Before you buy

Good to know.

A few practical answers for your first trip with an eSIM.

Ask us a question
Can I keep my usual SIM and WhatsApp?
On a compatible dual-SIM phone, your regular SIM can stay in place while the travel eSIM provides data. You can keep using your existing WhatsApp account. Calls and SMS on your regular line may still cost extra; check your carrier’s charges and your phone’s line settings.
Is an eSIM cheaper than roaming?
It depends on your carrier and trip. Compare the eSIM’s one-time price and allowance with your carrier’s roaming offer. You choose the data you’re buying upfront; there’s no subscription to cancel.
Will it work on my phone?
You need an eSIM-compatible phone that’s unlocked for other networks. Compatibility can vary by model and country of purchase. Check your exact device before buying.
Do I get a phone number?
These are mobile data plans. Use them for internet-based messages and calls through your apps. Don’t assume a local phone number, regular voice calls or SMS are included.
When does my plan start?
Activation rules vary by plan. Read the instructions supplied with your eSIM before installing or connecting, and use a stable internet connection for installation.
